This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who receives it, how long we retain it, and the rights available to you. Shopify and other service providers may also process information under their own privacy notices when they provide their services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our store, we may collect:

  • your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number;
  • order details, selected products and services, payment status, delivery information, returns and communications about your order;
  • account information and preferences when you create or use a customer account;
  • messages, feedback and other information you send to us;
  • marketing choices and your interactions with our marketing communications;
  • technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser or device information, cookie identifiers, pages viewed and interactions with the store; and
  • information needed to prevent fraud, keep the store secure, comply with law, or resolve a dispute.

Payment providers process payment-card information used at checkout. Kapraye does not state that it receives or stores your full card number. Customer-account credentials are handled through Shopify's account systems; Kapraye does not state that it can view your password.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you place an order, contact us, subscribe to marketing, submit stitching details or use a customer account. We also receive information automatically through the store and its cookies, and from service providers that support checkout, payments, fraud prevention, delivery, analytics, advertising, customer communication and other store functions.

Why we use your information and our lawful bases

We use personal information:

  • To perform our contract with you: to process payment status, fulfil and deliver orders, provide selected stitching services, communicate about an order, and manage cancellations, returns and refunds.
  • To comply with legal obligations: to maintain required tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests, and meet consumer and data-protection obligations.
  • For our legitimate interests: to provide customer support, prevent fraud and misuse, secure and troubleshoot the store, manage the business, understand store performance, improve our products and services, and establish or defend legal claims. We consider the effect on your rights before relying on legitimate interests.
  • With your consent where required: to send electronic marketing or use non-essential cookies and similar technologies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

If information is required to enter into or perform a contract, we may be unable to process or fulfil your order if you do not provide it.

Marketing

We may send marketing where you have asked to receive it or where another lawful permission applies. You can unsubscribe through the link in a marketing message or contact us at contact@kapraye.com. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect service messages about an order.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our store uses cookies and similar technologies to operate checkout and account functions, remember choices, understand store use, measure performance, prevent fraud and, where permitted, support advertising. Some cookies are necessary for the store to work. Where consent is required, you can accept or reject non-essential categories through the privacy choices shown on the store and can change your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent some store functions from working.

Who receives your information

We may disclose relevant information to:

  • Shopify, which hosts and operates the ecommerce platform;
  • payment processors and fraud-prevention providers;
  • delivery carriers, fulfilment providers and suppliers where needed to complete an order;
  • IT, hosting, communications, customer-service and security providers;
  • analytics, marketing and advertising providers, subject to applicable consent and privacy choices;
  • professional advisers, insurers and business service providers; and
  • courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to use information only for the agreed service and to protect it appropriately. Some recipients may act as independent controllers for their own processing; their privacy notices explain that processing. We do not sell personal information for money.

Shopify and payment processing

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visits, accounts, checkout and orders to provide its platform, security, analytics and related services. Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy explains its processing and privacy choices.

Payment information is submitted to the payment provider offered at checkout. Kapraye receives information needed to confirm and administer the transaction, such as payment status and transaction references, rather than claiming access to full card credentials.

International transfers

Shopify and other providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law restricts an international transfer, we use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism. This may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful exception. You can contact us for information about the safeguard relevant to your information.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing orders and support, meeting tax, accounting and legal requirements, preventing fraud, resolving disputes and maintaining appropriate business records. Retention periods differ by record type. We consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the reason it is needed, legal requirements and relevant limitation periods. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required, subject to backup and legal-retention processes.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information and rely on service providers, including Shopify and payment providers, for security within their systems. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Contact us if you believe information connected with your Kapraye order or account has been compromised.

We will not ask you to send full payment-card details or a password by email.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:

  • request access to your personal information;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase information;
  • ask us to restrict how information is used;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.

These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. To make a request, email contact@kapraye.com. We may need information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. You also have privacy rights relating to information Shopify controls, which can be exercised through Shopify's privacy services.

If you are unhappy with how we handle personal information, please contact us first so that we can investigate. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Children

Our store is intended for customers who can lawfully enter into a purchase. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information for independent purposes. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can review it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will apply from the stated update date and will not change rights already accrued.
